Aliya Tahisha Peterson Obituary (1980 - 2022)

Ms. Aliya Tahisha Peterson was born to her parents, Ernest L. Smith and Barbara A. (Smith) Peterson on October 28, 1980, in Long Branch, N.J., where she attended Long Branch, N.J. Public Schools in her early childhood. Aliya relocated with her mother to Dover, Delaware. She continued her education there. Aliyah was a beautiful person, full of joy and laughter and loved her children and grandchildren very much. She also loved her family, dearly. She was a very spiritual person by nature. Aliya was preceded in death by her father, Ernest L. Smith; brother, Karriem; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert and Rose Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Sam and Ruby Colbert; aunts, Ruby, Barbara, Ann, Mildred and Slena; grandfather, Ledrew Smith; and cousins, Jerry Jr. and Ernest K. Brian. Aliya is survived by her children, Elijah Peterson, Ahmonee’ Peterson, and twins, Karriem and Camerson Peterson; two grandchildren, Hassan Peterson and Malonee’ Peterson; mother, Barbara A. Peterson of Dover, Delaware; sisters, Latifa of Dover, Delaware, Monica of Patterson, NJ., Denise and Lynn Seymore of Millsboro, Delaware; brothers, Ernest Seymore of Millsboro, Delaware, Kennedy Smith of Patterson, New Jersey, and Kevin Smith of South Carolina; cousins, Harry and Stephanie Smith of Long Branch, New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts ,uncles, and many friends
