Barbara Durham

Barbara Ann Durham was born June 3, 1946, in Dover, DE., to John and Helen Sullivan. She departed this life on February 12, 2026.

Barbara was educated at Booker T. Washington Elementary School and also attended Henry High School in Dover, DE; it was there she met and would later marry Richard (Hun) Durham, and to this union five children were born.

Barbara was a sports enthusiast. She could always be found cheering on her family and friends at softball games, especially her children, cheering for them in whatever sport they played. She later became her grandkid’s #1 fan!

Barbara loved to cook. Whenever you found her in the kitchen, she would have her music filling the atmosphere with sounds of Luther Vandross, Patti LaBelle, and Teddy Pendergrass.

Barbara was employed at Playtex in Dover, DE., for more than 40 years before retiring.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Sullivan, grandson Richard Durham III, sister Grace J. Williams, who raised her as her own, and siblings Elenor, Clarence, Helen, Mildred, Anna, Chuck, and Pauline.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memories, her children Richard, Denell, Travis, Craig, and Corey; twenty grandchildren: Isaiah Wright, Donziel Summers, Donbray Durham, Zackery Durham, Tamika Durham, Tashonna Durham, Talissa Durham, Isaiah Crain, Craig Madison, Dareka Drummond, Asiah Durham, Shakii Price, J’Khai Durham, Dominque Durham, Kamryn Durham, Kory Durham, Kaylani Durham, Kaleah Durham, and Karmelo Durham; sister/niece Janice Lewis; bonus son Stewart (Sput) Sullivan; brothers John and Larry Sullivan; sister-in-law Gina Sullivan all of Dover, DE.; a host of loving nieces and nephews.
