It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cornelius A. Bordley. Born on July 18, 1957, in Dover, Delaware, Cornelius was a man of strength and resilience, whose spirit was as captivating as his life story. As Maya Angelou once said, "We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated." This quote embodied Cornelius' approach to life, demonstrating unwavering courage in the face of adversity.
Cornelius was a man of simple pleasures who found joy in the everyday moments. He had a knack for making those around him feel special and loved. His radiant smile and infectious laughter were enough to brighten even the gloomiest of days. Though he was no longer employed due to disability, Cornelius never let that define him. Instead, he lived his life with passion and purpose, nurturing his relationships with his loved ones and surrounding himself with positivity.
Cornelius is survived by his loving children, Torrie Bordley, Jameesha Baynard, Anthony Bordley, and Serenity Bordley; his nieces, Eva Butcher and Maurie Dennis; his former spouse, Shirley Price; and his brother, Dennis Bordley. He is also fondly remembered by his grandson, Tamir Bordley, his grandson Anthony Jones, his daughter-in-law, Shakeena Bordley, and his ex-spouse, Christine Gwen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Sr. and Ella Goldsborough.
In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Cornelius' spirit will continue to live on through those who knew and loved him. He left an imprint on the hearts of many and his memory will forever be a beacon of strength, resilience, and love.
We invite you to share your cherished memories of Cornelius and upload any photos that capture his spirit and joy for life to the memorial page. In this way, we can all keep his memory alive and remember the man who touched our lives in countless ways.
