Eva Lynn Brunswick, born on June 22, 1943, to the late John and Sophia Young, peacefully departed this life on November 20, 2023. She received her early education at Slaughter Neck Elementary School and went on to graduate from William C. Jason High School in 1961. Eva Lynn furthered her education at Delaware State College, earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education.
Eva Lynn was a first-grade teacher with the Caesar Rodney School District for over thirty years and retired in this role, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of her students. Outside of her profession, she took delight in watching QVC and immersing herself in the world of suspenseful movies.
Eva Lynn, a proud member of Delaware State University's Class of 1965, was instrumental in the record-breaking fundraiser which allowed her to present a record donation at the reception of DSU's 50th-anniversary celebration. Alongside her fellow alumni, she presented the largest gift ever presented to the school by a single graduating class during that time.
Devoted to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Slaughter Neck, Delaware, Eva Lynn's faith held a central place in her life. In alignment with her spiritual beliefs, she found solace and joy in visits to the beach, where she appreciated the beauty of God's creation.
