HERTFORD SHANE CORDAY DRAPER, better known as Shane, transitioned from this life on June 20, 2026. He was born on February 25, 1992, in Lewes, Delaware, to Phycillia Price and Brian Draper, whom Phycillia met through Stephanie Whaley, whom Shane grew to love as an aunt. Shane gave us love, loyalty, respect, and, above all things, his joyful smile for 24 years. He continued to bless us for almost 10 more years after his accident, with the same demeanor...fighting!!! If you knew Shane, you knew that he wasn't going down without a fight.
Shane was 6'2” and 250 plus pounds with a big beard and was very handsome. You could not tell him he wasn't from Philly. He attended Mariner Middle, where his love for football began. Coach Juan and his brother Mikey taught Shane the ropes. In his words... "BALL IS LIFE!" Once he got to Cape Henlopen, it took more than 6 boys to bring him down. He took football very seriously. He played semi-pro, and he enjoyed playing at the Turkey Bowl.
Shane had a very big heart. He loved his mom dearly. In his eyes, she could do no wrong. She was his baby. He loved his kids with every fiber in his body. Shane's bond with his siblings was indescribable. Shane may have been the baby boy, but he was the biggest of all of his siblings. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and his family, but most importantly, he was the man, and when we say the man, we mean the ladies loved Shane, and Shane loved the ladies, no matter how old.
Shane had an infectious laugh that soared through any room. He made some days feel possible when others felt like giving up. He knew that he did not want to settle. That life didn't stop or end in Delaware. He wanted more...he wanted to be BIG! To be a Delawarean to Shane meant standing still, and that he would not do.
For a portion of his life, Shane worked at Chipotle and Perdue, but his favorite job was being his own man. Shane was always intelligent and beyond his age. He had this thing about driving. Once he was able to drive and get someone's car he never kept still.
Shane was preceded in death by his father, Brian Draper, and his grandmothers, Phillis Gibbs and Ruth Draper.
The memory of Shane will be kept alive by his mother, Phycillia Price; his children, Gavin Draper, Malakhi Davis-Draper, and Cianni Anthony; his siblings, Samara Price, Sammie Price, Jermaine Price, Phillip Price, Kelly Price, Sara Price, and Brian Draper Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunties, great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins; his best friends, Victor and Patrick Glasgow; his special friends, Shenika and Carrie; and many loved ones he cared deeply about.
