Sadie’s Journey

Sadie Mae Davis, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Milford, DE, on August 22nd, 2025. She was born December 13th 1935, in Wilson, North Carolina.

Sadie was preceded in death by her father Gray Dred Sauls, and mother Sweetmore Weaver, of Wilson, North Carolina, her brothers Paul Weaver, Charlie Weaver, Fred Sauls and Jessie Sauls, and sisters Gladiss Williams and Flonnie Hobbs, her husband James Davis of Alabama, daughter Elaine Weaver of New Castle, DE, and son Denis Weaver of Shreveport, Louisiana.

Sadie attended school in Wilson, North Carolina. She moved to Delaware at the age of 18. She worked for many years at a the Pickle Plant and then went to Harbeson to work at Allens Food Plant.

Sadie attended Faith, Hope and Love Church of Milford, DE, for many years. Church was one of her most favorite places to be and things to do, along with watching her stories and game shows.

She leaves behind sons Earl Smith Jr., of California, Nathan and his wife Gwen Powell of Lincoln, DE, and step-daughters Eunette Warren and Sharon Fails.

She also leaves to cherish her memory, her grandchildren Shamee, Sheea, Kyheen Weaver, Todd and his wife Rachel Fields, Sherresha and her her husband Micheal Vecore, Ebonee and her husband Christopher Johnson, and Quiaunna Powell, great-grandchildren Cash and Rowen Fields, Giovanni and Harrison Johnson, and Amari Weaver, and a host of nieces and nephews from the Wilson, North Carolina Area.
