Susane Kovacs Obituary (1940 - 2024)

With profound sorrow and heartfelt affection, we announce the passing of Susane E. Kovacs, known with love and warmth as "Sue", on July 22, 2024. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ on February 25, 1940, she lived a life full of love, compassion, and generosity for 84 vibrant years. Sue’s life was a testament to her enduring spirit and the impact of her presence will forever be felt by her loved ones and the community around her. As Mother Teresa once said, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Sue did just that, touching lives with her kindness, thoughtfulness, and the joy she brought to every room. Susane's journey took her through various cities, from Phillipsburg and Hopelawn, NJ, to Chalfont, PA, and finally to her home in Dover, Delaware. Upon her retirement from Ross Dress for Less, Sue reveled in the pleasures of life and passionately followed her hobbies. She found great joy in gardening, shopping, playing computer games, and cooking. Her love for music, particularly for Elvis, was visible in her lively dances and the vast collection of memorabilia she proudly maintained. She was a woman of taste, her fondness for shoes, jewelry, and anything with "bling" was well known amongst family and friends. Incredibly loving and compassionate, Sue's family was her pride and joy. She was a dedicated mother to her daughters, Margaret Mouhtarim (Khalid) and Eva Donnelly (John), and a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandkids Christen Jarrett (Sean), John Donnelly (Brittany), Joshua Donnelly (Brooke), Jacob Donnelly, Noelle Mouhtarim, Sarah Mouhtarim, Leila Mouhtarim, and her great-grandkids Liam Jarrett and Isla Jarrett, will forever cherish their memories of her. She leaves the love of a sister Priscilla Jenkins with a bond only sisterhood could birth. Known as the fun Aunt, Sue's love extended to all her nieces and nephews, making her the life of family picnics and gatherings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and John Szabo, and siblings John Szabo and Elsie Loki. As Sue's life was a celebration of love and compassion, let us continue to honor her memory by sharing our favorite stories and photographs.
