Teshanna Mary Koonce, affectionately known to many as "Shanna," was born on the 18th day of March in 1989, in the vibrant city of Wilmington, DE, USA. Her life, as Maya Angelou once said, was a "phenomenal journey," marked by moments of joy, perseverance, and love. From a young age, it was evident that Teshanna was blessed with a deep-rooted passion for music, a skillful touch, and a boundless love for her cherished pet, Destiny. As she grew, her radiant spirit, infectious laughter, and her enchanting smile became her trademarks, touching all who came into her orbit. Shanna was a beacon of unwavering support for those she held dear. Her legacy lives on in the sweet memories of her loved ones, and in the heart of her son, David Journey Koonce. Teshanna's parents, Cynthia Koonce and Daniel Charles, along with Kim Goldsboro, were the pillars of her life, and she remained a cherished daughter in their hearts till her last breath. Her siblings, Felicia Koonce, Kenshell M. Koonce-Jamerson (Marco), Tia Koonce, Tikie S. Woodard, and Tykiesha Raison, remember her as a loving sister who always brought laughter and love into their lives. Teshanna's memory will forever be held dear by her aunts Kietsa Hendricks, Donna Hendricks, Margie Gilmore, Cassandra Hopkins, Irene Myles, and her uncles Michael Hendricks and Clarence Hendricks.
